Researchers
Camelia BECIU is senior researcher with the Institute of Sociology of the Romanian Academy (in the laboratory Sociology of communication and public space) and associate professor with the University of Bucharest. In 1999 she got her Ph.D. from the University of Bucharest with a thesis on A Discourse-analytical approach of the electoral sphere. The 1996 presidential election. Her main research interests include political communication, the sociology of public sphere and discourse analysis. Camelia Beciu is the author of the following books: Comunicarea politică (Political Communication), (2002) and Politica discursivă. Practici Politice într-o campanie electorală (Discursive Politics: Political Practices in an Election Campaign), (2000). She edited (with Nicolae Perpelea) Europe and the Public Space. Communication Practices, Representations, Emotional Climate, Editura Academiei, Bucharest, 2007.
